Initial Assessment

In order to undertake training and qualifications, good numeracy and literacy skills are essential and many courses now include a pre-course assessment called an "Initial Assessment".

You will be asked to provide evidence of Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy with certificates for the following:

English: O level/GCSE grade A-C or CSE grade 1

Maths: O level/GCSE grade A-C/ or CSE grade 1

National Certificate in Adult Literacy level 2

National Certificate in Adult Numeracy level 2

If evidence is not available, an initial assessment will need to be completed
