NCA have a new Patron

We are delighted to announce that Sir Richard Bowlby has agreed to be NCA’s first Patron

Sir Richard BowlbyFollowing a successful career in medical and scientific photography, Sir Richard Bowlby has spent the years since his retirement in 1999 promoting the work of his father, Dr John Bowlby, the pioneer researcher on the impact of early attachment relationships between parents and their young children.

Richard actively promotes a wider understanding of attachment theory, particularly the importance of children under 2 forming secure secondary attachments with their care giver. He is an experienced presenter and regularly gives talks on attachment theory, drawing on his personal insights into his father’s work.

Richard is a passionate supporter of childminders and we are delighted that he has offered to be NCA’s first patron. NCA will be hosting an attachment conference led by Richard on Saturday 25th February 2012 so watch this space for further details and make sure that you book on as soon as booking opens as we know it will book up quickly!
