NCA response to Ofsted Report
We have sent a letter to Graham Stuart MP, Chair of the Select Committee on Education supporting NCMA's response. A report was published in April proposing changes to the way in which Ofsted operates. The report on the Role and Performance of Ofsted proposed separating the inspectorate in to Care and Education.
It was also proposed that registered childminders would be inspected under the Care inspectorate and Nurseries under Education. The report is not yet Government policy. Government usually has 60 days to reply to the committee's recommendations.
We have written to the Chair of Education Select Committee outlining our concerns about the proposal to separate care from education, and childminders from other early years educators.
