Childminding network

NCA manages the Northamptonshire Children Come First Network. Childminders on this network offer additional services including grant funded early education places to 3 and 4 year olds, family support childminding places, support to children with special needs and support to teenage parents.

There are many benefits to network childminders, including access to additional training, peer support from other members and an excellent reputation amongst other professionals within the childcare sector. Many network childminders are working towards, or have already achieved, a level 3 childcare qualification.

Network childminders receive regular visits from an NCA Development Worker/Network Coordinator. These visits are a two-way process, giving support and encouragement to the childminder and ensuring that high quality standards are maintained.

Childminders wishing to join the Children Come First Network are required to go through an initial assessment process. Childminders who already have a level 3 qualification, or who have achieved a level 3, on the Quality First scheme will usually be given priority.
