SEN Practicalities
A two-hour training session delivered by Ellie Collar, Children and Families Service
(Inclusion and Pupil Support)
This course is aimed at childminders who care for pre-school children and covers what to look for when assessing a child’s progress, what to record, how to work with parents, writing individual education plans and working with other agencies.

NCMA (National Childminding Association) Annual Regional Meeting
Childminders from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire joined Northamptonshire childminders at the Sure Start Centre, Wellingborough for this year’s NCMA Annual Regional Meeting. The day consisted of key note speaker ‘John Bush’ author of ‘The Fish that could Wish’ and the ‘Africa’ series, who entertained us with extracts from his stories and tales of his home life.
Also the Regional forum, where members looked at the NCMA quality standards and spoke of any concerns they had regarding childminding in their area. There were also elections for the National Policy Forum representatives and for the members of the Regional Organising Committee. These now consist of:
NPF – Andrea Adams – Northamptonshire, Sarah Edwards – Nottinghamshire
ROC – Christine Emery–Nottinghamshire-Chair, Janet Lewis–Lincolnshire–Treasurer, Hilary Marks-Lincolnshire–Secretary and Jane Wragg-Derbyshire, Donna Kitchin-Northamptonshire and Kim Mikula-Lincolnshire-Committee.
