Record Keeping
Record Keeping
If you are registered with Ofsted on the Early Years Register, the compulsory or voluntary part of the Childcare Register or any combination of these, you have to keep certain written records as part of your everyday childminding practice. This is a legal requirement and as such will be checked at your Ofsted Inspection.
The Early Years Register and the Childcare Register are covered by two different sets of regulations. Mostly the requirements are the same for each register, but in some cases they are not. Childminders on both registers must meet the requirements for each of the registers.
